[SOLVED] HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 1.4?

This is a very noob question and I don’t know a lot about this kind of stuff so pls bear with me.

1)Can I connect my laptop (120hz)that has a hdmi 2.0 to an external monitor (144hz)that has hdmi 1.4 through HDMI 2.0??

2)If so, will I be able to use it at 144hz or 120hz??

3)Will it work? Will it cause some issues?

1| Yes you can, so long as you're using an HDMI cable to pair them

3| Make and model of your laptop...and it's SKU as well as the make and model of your display?

Screen refresh is determined by the screen that is being used. It should work at 144Hz.
Go ahead and test it out. It should work fine.

If your laptop have AMD GPU, then FreeSync over HDMI 1.4 with FreeSync capable monitor with HDMI input must work.

If your laptop have NVIDIA GPU and DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output, then FreeSync will work with FreeSync capable monitor capable monitor over DisplayPort cable in G-Sync Compatible mode.

Otherwise you are completely out of luck.
