Question HDMI 2.1 vs. DisplayPort 1.4 on LG 32GQ950-B ?

Hi
I have a marvelous LG 32GQ950-B 4K Monitor running 144Hz, overclockable to 160Hz.
GPU is a RTX 4090.
My understanding was that HDMI 2.1 has a higher throughput. but I am only able to overclock to 160Hz by using DisplayPort.

Any suggestions?

Yes, the question is... why is this, as HDMI 2.1 offers more bandwith

but the definition of HDMI of the monitor doesn´t support it nor does the HDMI2.1 standard, if I read it correctly

you can display 8k with 60Hz or 4k with 120Hz max. uncompressed (definition of HDMI.org)
all others are not certified and can work, but not for sure
