[SOLVED] HDMI Audio Output Not Available

Hi

I recently had to reset my Alienware 15 R4 Laptop, and now I can no longer get sound through the HDMI port. I tried plugging it into my TV and the sound only comes out through my laptop speakers.

When I first got this laptop I did the same thing and the sound worked just fine through HDMI.

I looked in Audio Devices and HDMI is not listed, nor is it listed in Device Manager. I've tried downloading and installing sound drivers, but it always says that the driver I'm trying to install is older than the one I have.

Any ideas?

You need to go to the laptop website and download the GPU drivers for your laptop model since HDMI is controlled by the GPU not the sound card.
