HDMI cable causing lag?

Hey, so my computer recently had a little fall it fell off my desk onto a carpet floor front first, and in the process the HDMI cable was pulled out of the HDMI plug going into my GPU, so I basically need a new cable. I borrowed a longer one from the TV but when I am playing a game particularly GTA 5 there appears to be microstuttering when driving and moving the camera around which I'm sure wasn't there before.

My question is, is it possible that the HDMI cable is performing worse because a) its a longer cable and/or b) it could be an older cable?

Thanks!

No, the HDMI cable is digital and will either work, or not. There is no fuzzy inbetween like with analog signals. Either it works, or it doesn't.

No, length doesn't have an impact until it does, and the cable no longer works. again this isn't a partial thing, this is a "black screen no signal" kind of thing. You can overcome this by using HDMI repeaters after around 50 meters. Even if you chained multiple repeaters across a football field, you'd be very hard pressed to notice any lag.

Again, no, the cable is not causing lag.
