HDMI Cable has no signal

So I just finished my first new build today, and I went to plug in the hdmi cable from the graphics card I/O to the monitor, and I got "HDMI No Signal"

What could the problems/solutions for this be? It's in the graphics card I/O, the graphics card is definitely getting power, and my monitor is on the right input.

I have a 980 ti if it makes any difference.

Also I just checked, and the hdmi cable works when hooked up to my laptop, so its gotta be the graphics card right?

Additionally, I changed the express slot on the mobo, still no luck.

Try connecting to the build in hdmi, see if you forgto to change it to use the add-in GPU first.
