HDMI converter or cable

I have a HDMI to HDMI cable, I can use a HDMI TO DVI to get my display but I want to know if I were to get a HDMI to DVI cable, will the cable works better than the HDMI to HDMI with a HDMI to DVI converter?

It would be the same. the only difference is one is an adapter to convert HDMI to DVI. while the other is an out of the box HDM to DVI cable you will have no quality issues with either solutions.


the difference would be when you have to carry audio (HDMI to HDMI only), which HDMI to DVI doesn't support.

DVI to HDMI can carry sound if it's not a terribly old graphics card, pretty much any graphics cards found today can output audio via DVI to HDMI.
