Is there a software allowing to convert the VGA ( or DVI) signal to full HDMI without having to use a converter?

THanks

Passive means a piece of hardware with no electronics, just cabling. Your DVI-HDMI cable is passive, as all it does is re-order the pins into a different plug. An active converter (which has a physical chip in it that decodes and re-encodes the signal) will make no difference.

Most likely your PC isn't set to the right resolution. Right-click on the desktop, go to Resolution, select the TV, and select the highest one it lets you. It might help.
THank you Someone Somewhere

Sorry, I said converting from VGA to HDMI . IN reality I meant from DVI to HDMI, because the video card of my computer does have a DVI plug. Actually, I have connected this DVI outlet to the HDMI socket of my TV with a DVI to HDMI cable and I get the computer screen on my TV, but the resolution is not very good. Maybe it is because my TV ( a Panasonic) is around five years old and the native resolution of older TV's is not as good as that of more recent TV's. Bottom line, I was thinking of improving the DVI signal by converting it to HDMI if possible. What do you you mean by " passive" converter"? Is it a piece of hardware or maybe a software? Will the converted HDMI signal be as good as the native one or is it a waste of time?

THank you
