HDMI disabling second monitor

So whenever I plug in my HDMI cable to my asus VS228H-P it disables my other monitor which is connected via display port stops working saying no signal, this second monitor is an asus vg248qe. I was wondering if others are having this problem and if you know how to fix it. I'm running a gigabyte xtreme gaming gtx 1060 6gb.

found the issue was with Nvidia control panel for some reason when the issue first came up it wouldn't let me enable the monitor but now it let me enable it and it is fixed
