hdmi dvi connector

hi ive just purchased a Acer 24in display which i thought had an hdmi connection it has`nt my graphics card has ..anyhow ive looked online and found an hdmi to dvi connector lead ... is this a good idea or will my dvi lead do the same thing ?? ... James

I bought DVI - HDMI on Amazon, works perfectly. Both are digital signals so there is no loss of the video. Wouldn't it just be easier for you if you buy a plain out DVI cable, DVI out on the graphics card and DVI in on the monitor?

Thanx for the quick reply .. `i`ll order the lead now .. wasn`t sure at first if the adapter would cause lack of sharpness .. you have convinced me otherwise .. thanx .. James
