HDMI from ps3 to pc?

Is it possible to get an image output by connecting a HDMI from PS3 to PC? the goal is to record/stream gameplay from ps3 without additional hardware such as a HD PVR. Am i correct in saying all hdmi ports on pc's are outputs therfore its not possible? thanks in advance

Yes - correct.
You would need a video capture card, to get hdmi video input on a pc. Like this one:
