Hi all, I am suffering from a mysterious and incredibly frustrating ailment, and hoping for a cure.

I'm using Windows 10, all drivers updated, with an Acer VN7 laptop, and an array of screens - Dell, AOC, Samsung.

I woke up one morning, and my trusty external monitor, running on HDMI linked to laptop, said 'no input found'. This was without a Windows Update or driver update from my side.

I assumed it had tanked, but testing it on another laptop showed that it was alive and well. I got another monitor, and experienced the same issue, so I assumed it was my graphics card.

However, when I used a converter from HDMI to DVI on an older screen, it miraculously worked.

This leads me to think it may be a HDMI issue, and a friend said it could be a 'handshake' issue.

I have now tried all the standard fixes, including safe mode booting, uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers, including both graphics cards and monitor, as well as new cables, different monitors etc.

One thing I've noticed is that under Device Manager, my monitor shows up when I plug it in (so it's being recognized correctly), but it shows an error of 'Device not migrated".

The detail is:

Device DISPLAY\DELD0E1\5&392dc4bd&2&UID4352 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

Last Device Instance Id: DISPLAY\GSM0001\5&392dc4bd&0&UID4352

Location Path:

I would seriously appreciate any help possible. This has been ruining me for the last few days and I'm at my wit's end.
