The HDMI standard does include audio. That doesn't mean that your motherboard is properly supporting HDMI audio.

Based on the way your using headphones:

You'll need to buy a stereo audio cable with the appropriate stereo plugs (3.5mm or 1/8-inch) on each end.

One end of the cable will need to be plugged into the green audio Line Out jack on the motherboard's rear panel connectors and the other end into the monitor's Line In jack.

In your monitor's Audio menu you will need to select PC Audio.

idk how to check if i have HDMI audio passthrough,,,,,i only have the on board graphic card is a gigabyte GA h81m h intel,,,and i dont think i have the HDMI audio device driver installed where can i get it? link? im a noob at computers

Your Windows Sound applet shows that there is an HDMI audio output available. That Digital Audio (HDMI) device needs to be set as the Default Device.

Does your monitor have the selectable audio input options as shown in the monitor's manual? Can you select the HDMI Audio option?
