hdmi not working on gtx 750 ti

Got an zotac nvidia gtx 750ti n installed it,ii has a mini hdmi port so i brought an additional hdmi mini adapter,but the hdmi port when connected to my tv it shows nothing..but if i connect it with vga to my old pc monitor it works just fine..Is it because of my HDMI 2 port or the matter is smething else?Or do i have to upgrade my windows ti 64 bit

First, windows 32 or 64 bit is not part of the problem.

Dumb question:
When you connect with the mini hdmi to hdmi adapter, have you selected the appropriate input on the TV?

I have tried in arc,mhl,hdcp 2.2 but none of them are working..i donno why but i am pissed off...wat else could be the reason??? Help help help anyone plsssss
