So for the past couple of months ive using a normal HDMI cable from my monitor which is a Insignia TV to my Gigabyte GTX 1050 OC 2GB to view everything on my screen. But now im really curious on why it won't display when I plug the HDMI to my Gigabyte Z370 D3 Motherboard.

Solution
The bios has setting that detects when a GPU is installed and disables the integrated graphics on the motherboard. If you go thru the mobo manual you should be able to find this bios setting. It called different things by each mobo manufacturer. You can then flip the setting to re-enable the integrated graphics and also use the GPU video out.
