I have an HP laptop with an Nvidia 840M. In theory the video card supports up to 2560x1600. However when I plug in my Dell 30" 2560x1600 via HDMI, all it can get is 1920x1200. The odd thing is in the Windows Screen Resolution Advanced Settings, it says it's using the Intel adapter. So I tried disabling the Intel adapter in the Device Manager, but that seemed to disable the HDMI port completely. What's going on here? Is this expected? Is the Nvidia GPU completely isolated from the HDMI output somehow?
