Hello. Im having trouble connecting my second monitor to my motherboard VIA HDMI. It has nothing to do with the monitors or cables. Please help, I'm really new and this is my first build.
motherboard - msi 760GM-e51
Generally on-board graphics don't support dual output. An older board such as yours almost certainly doesn't. Radeon HD 5450's or 6450's can be found pretty cheap and will support dual monitors.
if there a gpu plugged into the video card slot then you need to go into the bios under onboard devices. look at primany display setings. need to set it to both onboard and gpu or under it will be line says muilt monitor support. set it to enabled to have both ports on.

Ignore the "best solution." Almost all integrated graphics support multiple displays. This guy is right.
