HDMI Port on Motherboard. Sound not working.

If you have an HDMI port on a motherboard and I plug in an HDMI cable from the motherboard to in a 70 in flat screen tv, what would be the reason that the picture works but not the sound? I have checked everything I know to check on the pc and Tv and still cannot get it to work

You may have to update the motherboard's drivers. Since you're using the onboard HDMI port, you will have to get the newest chipset drivers...even though those SHOULD be working right out of the box.
