Question HDMI Splitter loses signal after motherboard boot screen

I recently purchased an HDMI splitter so I can easily switch my monitor between my desktop and my consoles.
When I boot my desktop up while it's connected through the HDMI splitter, I can see the motherboard's boot screen/logo but as soon as it goes to the Windows login screen it goes black and says no HDMI signal. My Switch's (console) connection works fine the entire time. I've tried two other HDMI splitters and had the same issue.

My specs are
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Any help is much appreciated!

Splitter or switch?

Splitter divides a signal to multiple displays
Switch takes multiple sources and outputs the selected source.

If you really have a splitter then you bought the wrong thing.
If you have a switch then its possible that the resolution or frequency your GPU is outputting is not supported by your switch.
- Which monitor do you have?
- Which exact switch is this?
As a test you could connect the monitor to the GPU directly and boot up. Set resolution and frequency to 1280x720 and 60hz. Save, shutdown, install switch and see what happens.

Thank you for the response!

I have my monitor directly connected to my GPU right now but I'll try setting the resolution and frequency then changing to the switch.

Edit: Changing the resolution + frequency and then hooking it up through the HDMI switch still caused it to lose HDMI signal
