Question HDMI splitter not working through desktop PC

i have a custom built PC that i am trying to use to run multiple tv's. currently i have an hdmi splitter that i have been using with both mine and my sisters laptop with no issues, but as soon as i plug the hdmi cable into the hdmi port on the graphics card on the desktop pc only one of the displays will work. Running all the displays seperately works but thats messy to set up and id like to have it go through the hdmi splitter. any ideas whats wrong with it

Is your splitter passive or active?
e.g. Does it use a power cable or does it just have HDMI ports?
While the RX 570 can support up to 6 displays, it may not be able to support more than 1 or 2 through a single port.

The splitter is set up to take one display and copy it to the four out ports.
It is powered through a separate power cable. It shows up as one display on windows
