Hello folks,

I googled, I amazoned, I searched the forum, I tried... but I fail to find a reasonably priced HDMI Switch 2-on-1 that would allow me to switch HDMI input signal from either of my 2 laptops to 1 external monitor at Full HD 75Hz.

This is the only product I found priced lower than 250€, hence I am suspicious > https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08JTZB2YC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A1ED6JEOF71PSI&psc=1

So, given my basic understanding of video resolutions and that likes I kindly have 3 questions:
  1. do you know of any switch that could fulfill my needs (technically and price wise ~40€)
  2. why does this seem such an impossible task/ask?
  3. some of those switches claim to support 4k@60hz > would that not requre a higher signal bandwith than 1080p@75hz? > why then not also support 1080p@75hz?

Thanks for your patience and support.
Cheers, S.

Solution
In order to run 4k@ >60hz via HDMI there are several requirements.
You must have HDMI 2.1 on both your graphics adapter as well as your tv/monitor.
You must also have a HDMI cable of highest or ultra quality that will output 48hz.

I doubt that either laptop has that graphics capability which seems to require a 3000 series graphics card.
Possibly, you could use an external graphics card that has multiple inputs.
Here is an article on that:

Have you actually tried any of those switches and they did not work? Or are you specifically looking for one that states 1080 at 75hz in the description? Because that is not likely to be put there for such a specific thing, 75hz is not very common to be listed.
