Folks hi, I normally game on Acer predator x34 via display port at 1440p. I've gotten a 4k 55in tv however and thinking of running a hdmi cable from PC to the TV for using controller based games. Is there anything I need in order for it to achieve 4k gaming? I've only got a standard hdmi cable atm as I need it to be 10m long.
Can someone help me out with achieving the best set up?
Thanks guys

If your source is not transmitting 4K video then the TV won't display 4K ie. set your PC & game resolution to 1080p and see what the results look like.
Depending how close you are to the display, you may notice pixelation.

Well, I'm not too sure. It's a i5 4670k @ 4ghz, 980ti, 16gb ram. I get close to 100fps cap at 1440p via display port.
Im just trying to find the best method for getting the PC running on my TV. If the TV is 4k, does this stop me being able to downgrade to 1080p but keep ultra settings? I'd rather the fps than push 4k needlessly if the fps is gonna be rubbish and have extra expenses of trying to source a 10m hdmi 2.0 cable.

Ah! Very good to know. Now I get u! I'm about 10 feet away so that seems like it'll be grand. Basically I'll be sitting up in bed playing with the TV on the wall at the foot of the bed. I was thinking because the TV was 4k then that was the deciding factor rather than what the source was outputting. Cheers
