Hi,

I bought a 2nd monitor but didn't realise my GTX1070 only has 1 HDMI port and 3 display ports. The 2nd monitor is HDMI and I'm already using the HDMI port on my graphics card for my main monitor.

Do the HMDI to displayport adapters actually work?

Read into it a tiny bit and it seemed like there was a bit of a grey area, so I thought I'd ask the experts!

They work, though you'll have to make sure you get the proper directional video output.

For example, https://www.showmecables.com/displa...OEUoCcr8U-SXXFU3175PDjMJY_46UgmwaAqAmEALw_wcB

This one will work by connecting it to your video source (Graphics card) and then running an HDMI from your monitor to this.

If you get it the other way around, you'll most likely need to get something like this

So it's a grey area because DP and HDMI run on their own software and power requirements.
