Question HDMI to Display port

i was wondering if a HDMI to display port adapter for my 2080 does anything or should i just stick with the HDMI to HDMI

If you can connect to your display without an adapter, you should. What are you connecting to what?

VIZIO 2160p 4k UHD tv 120Hz to my PC but im guessing it does not do much with just a tv
