Hdmi to DVI to VGA ?

So my graphics card has arrived and it has only Displayport, Hdmi and dvi-d out. my monitor has just vga so i need adaptors. i found hdmi to vga but are not in stock right now where i am living and i found one from hdmi to dvi and i already have a dvi-vga adapter so will using 2 adapters work?

HDMI-VGA requires an active converter.

HDMI-DVI is completely passive so even if the DVI out has the 4 analog pins around the little blade the chances that the manufacturer connected them to anything are nil.
