So I have an old LG Flatron L226WTQ that I am attempting to use as a second monitor on my recently purchased system. The system is running a RTX2060 which just has HDMI and Display ports. The monitor is VGA. I bought the following adapter (https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Plated-...mi+to+vga&qid=1591286022&s=electronics&sr=1-4 ), cause I didn't necessarily want to drop another $100. When I say it works kind of i mean that windows detects it. and it stays active it never goes into rest mode but only shows an image for .5 second after being powered on then goes black. I can still moved windows and cursors onto the screen but not visible, is it just time to accept that this monitor is a brick or am i missing something? I have the res. set to 1,680x1,050 as that is what i can find as the monitors resolution and have tried everything else in the drop downs out of hoping to land on something that works. The only thing that catches me off guard a little is that even though its set to 60hz in properties, windows shows it at 59Hz in advanced display.

Save me from another purchase i dont really want to make right now.

This page https://www.lg.com/za/monitors/lg-L226WTQ-BF-lcd-monitor and the review of that monitor both say there is a DVI-D port. If so, you should get an HDMI to DVI-D converter cable. That will give you an all-digital connection to your monitor.
