HDMI to VGA/DVI

I have a monitor that I would like to connect it to a XBOX 360, the monitor doesn't support HDMI so I need a HDMI converter to VGA/DVI, my question is should I get a HDMI converter to VGA or HDMI converter to DVI, which one will give me a better experience? Thanks

first thing, HDMI (video signal) should be fully compatible with DVI, you need a simple adapter. But I am not sure if connecting to a non-hdcp (copy protection) device is allowed when using the hdmi port. You also will not have any audio, i dont remember if you can send the audio via the other outputs.

Any more complicated converters may add latency to the feed.

its easier to go from HDMI to DVI than to VGA, simply because HDMI and DVI-D are both digital connections and are compatible. You still need a way to separate out the audio, depending on your xbox version this may be easy or difficult.
