hdmi to vga problem

so i have a ps4 witch works perfectly on my tv using a hdmi cable however i wanted to play it on my "sharp notevision XG-NV4SE" however it only has vga to it so i bought a hdmi to vga converter wire (one side hdmi and the other is vga) i set it up but i isn't working as it's just a blank screen ?? can i have some help with this problem ? i thinks it's then projecor as it is very old.

Probably need an ACTIVE Converter , might work might not.

you're saying the same tv is compatible with ps4 but not xbox right? first of all, are you using the right port for xbox? compared to ps4, this console has more than one port, in and out. also, you can try another cable or try the same cable over another tv to see if it's indeed the cable.
