HDMI TV (small) for gaming?

Hi guys,
Recently purchased a new gaming pc, i5 2500k, Radeon 6950, and I am now very poor.
I live in a uni room, meaning that it's very small and space is an issue. and I already use my TV for both watching programmes and my xbox.
It is a 22" LED TV, would it work well as a gaming screen too?

If you believe not, could anyone help me out with ideas for a suitable monitor, price is my primary concern as well as reaction time.

Well, TV is not designed for the PC, but it is small and maybe u can get away with it. Or your eyes might hurt. Try it.

U could get an lcd monitor that is designed for watching TV and be used as a PC monitor. These come with TV tuner.

if its a 1920x1080 (1080p) 60hz monitor then it might work fine. if its 720p things could look really ugly (huge like windows 95 days!) or if its 120hz then you could get lag.

It's 1080p but unsure of hz so will give it a go when my pc arrives!
