[SOLVED] HDMI vs DVI

So, as far as i know they are similar in most regards but one: HDMI carries audio as well.
However i have a dvi cable and the speakers in my dsiplay still work (albeit with really poor quality)
If i use hdmi cable will the quality of the display speakers improve?
Are there any other significant differences between those 2 cables - i use 1440p 60hz monitor with a gtx 1080ti/ i7-8700k.

Integrated display speakers suck, period. It doesn't matter what cable you use, the quality of the audio is still going to suck. Doesn't even matter what model the monitor is, because there are almost no monitors with integrated speakers that don't suck, and the few that don't suck, well, they still suck. LOL.

It MIGHT improve marginally, but most likely it won't, and even if it does the difference will be so infinitesimal that it wouldn't be worth the cost of a cable even if the cable only cost you ten bucks. Put the cost of the cable towards some halfway decent cheap speakers and you'll be 500% happier in the long run.

These, are very decent considering the extremely low price. Until just recently, I was using a set of these with my system and was very happy with them even for the 60 bucks I paid for them three years ago. At 40 bucks, they are a steal. You can also get them refurbished through Amazon for ten bucks less.

The difference would be in orders of magnitude compared to any integrated monitor speakers.
