Hello guys. As title says when i'm in-game or using the netflix app HDR looks aces. But whenever I exit a game that is running exclusive fullscreen the desktop is very dim - and then after a few minutes it becomes so bright that text is illegible. I have to toggle HDR off, then on, to fix this. My display is also G-sync enabled if that matters.

Anyone familiar with this? A solution is to run games in borderless windowed mode. But, that means the triple buffer of desktop is applied and g-sync loses some of its value, because input lag caused by v sync is re-introduced. Ultimately it's not a big deal to toggle the setting but if anyone knows a better solution please share.

There is an automatic brightness control somewhere.
if you have ATI or nvidia then run their software and remove it there.

The following helped me: Control Panel - Power Supply - Power Scheme Settings (it is advisable to go into each scheme - balanced, energy saving and high performance) - Change additional power settings" - ATI video card power settings - Settings ATI Powerplay - set the Maximum performance for both On Battery and On Line

Or try to update your graphic and video drivers. I recommend you to use ITL Driver Updater.
Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

What make and model monitor? What cable and ports are you using to connect monitor and PC?

Two immediate thoughts:

Reinstall the the netflix app.

Reinstall video drivers.

W10 Home 64-Bit Build 19041
Ryzen 7 2700X
16GB RAM
B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
GTX 1070

The monitor in question
Acer Predator XB253Q Gpbmiiprzx
Connected via DisplayPort.

The issue doesn't occur with the netflix app, only games running in exclusive fullscreen. I have tried a clean install of the latest game-ready driver, didn't fix the issue.
