Hey, so I just built a new PC and tried to connect it to my HDTV, but if the screen resolution or an ingame resolution goes above 1024x768the display turns off, and I'm left with a message saying no display detected. I have a Asus Z97 MB, with an I7, 8 GB of ram and a Nvidia GTX780 TI ( designed for asus). I'm using a DVI-I to VGA(i'm going to the VGA because, even though the TV has a HDMI spot, the edge of the screen gets cut off. So I use the PC input, the VGA.)

Is there a way to either increase the resolution of the PC input or change the resolution of the HDMI input.

If you need any more info, please ask.

There should be an option in the NVidia Control Panel under the Display tree for Adjusting desktop size and position. This should allow you to underscan the display image to fit your screen.

What model HDTV do you have? It could very well be that the HDTV's PC input is limited to 1024x768. You can probably check the specifications for your HDTV to find out. If that is the case, I would recommend going back to an HDMI input and using the PC's graphic card control panel to underscan and shrink the display image to match your HDTV's display size.

Its a

SMART VIERA® 50" Class GT50 Series Full HD 3D Plasma HDTV (49.9" Diag.) the serial number is TC-P50GT50

I tried to switching both the frequency rate and resolution, and it didn't work, I kept getting the same result. The other option you said was using the HDMI input and shrinking the size, how would you suggest I do that?

Yea, that worked, thanks man for all the help.
