I just bought some AudioTechnica M50X headphones and was very disapointed when I tried plugging them into my gaming PC.
I have to max out windows volume to 100% to get it reasonable "loud." Others with this same headphones say that even on their laptop anything above 30-40% volume is like uncomfortably, ear-drum blowingly loud.
The motherboard even says to have an amp and "audio boost"
The headphones are only like 30 ohms so it should not be an issue to power.
I have tried both the back and front plugins on the mobo, the front is actually slightly louder but still not as loud as it should be. I have tried different drivers and all the windows audio settings to no avail.
Is there something I need to enable in the BIOS or something I'm missing? Or is this soundcard simply too weak which it shouldn't be...
