[SOLVED] Headphone hissing

Im relatively new to pc gaming and ever since I built mine a few months ago ive noticed a static or hissing sound coming from my headphones. I use corshairs $30 headphones with a splitter thats plugged directly into my mother board in the back of the pc. Is this a common issue? And if so what might be some solutions?

If the sound is only hearable when there is not other audio playing, that can be normal with some systems and cables. Test the headphones on another system or a phone, try it without the splitter.
