Headphone jack is not detected(?)

My computer is not detecting my headphones. It has two jacks one for the sound and one for the microphone but when I checked using control panel my device won't show. Both the sound and the microphone is not detected but it used to work on the same computer. I tried using the back panels but still the same result. I tried plugging in a different headphone but same thing happens. I tried my headphones on other devices but it works. WHAT IS HAPPENING???
