The headphone jack outputs only mono unless the tiniest bit of force is applied to it (mm of movement), then it works fine.
Things I have tried :
Isopropyl alchohol to clean it
Air to clean it.
Cotton swab.

Solution
They aren't really "pins"....more like thin flat strips of metal. Over time they fatigue and lose their spring. You can either bend them back and that may be enough to take care of it, or replace the jack.
Ideally you want to get access to the rear of the jack and hopefully you will be able to see the contacts and they can be bent appropriately to apply more force to the plug.

Or perhaps it's the plug you are using. Does the jack work with other plugs?

If not, and you can't get access to the contacts, replace the jack.

First of all, what do you mean with other plugs and also, it happened completely out of nowhere.

by "other plugs" I mean try some other headphones....OR any device that has a 1/8" stereo phone plug as an input.

The bottom line is you want the three contacting surfaces on the plug to contact the three contacting surfaces on the jack.

Right now, that is not the case because you have said you only get mono.

Tried using some other headphones I had lying around and it seems to be the port that has the problem, my guess is that some pin in the socket is slightly bent inwards thus not making good contact.
