Headphone port not plugged in

Hi I just recently had a power outage that turned off my computer while I was on it twice(the first time lights were out for a minute and then the second it was off for 2 hours) When the power came back on for good I noticed that my headphones were not making sound so I tried it on my roommates computer and it was fine. I then tried the speaker port on the back and it works but the sound isn't quite the same to my ears.I went to the realtek audio control panels and it says that the headphones aren't plugged in even though they are to the headphone port when I plug them in there. Anybody know what could have possibly happened?

It's possible that the port got damaged from a power surge. You can either try and replace the front ports or buy an extension to run from the back.

Anybody else have any advice as to what it could be? The power surge to the port I think is a good possibility but I want to make sure and exhaust every option out there manually on the computer before I go out and replace anything.
