I have a headset (Sennheiser HD 201)
My mobo is Gigabyte H110m s2ph
My case is Corsair Spec 01
When i connect my headset to the front jack, the 7.1 surround works properly
but when i connect it to the jack behind in the motherboard it only works in stereo.

does that mean my mobo only supports stereo?

Solution
The only way to know "what is what" is to open the case and check the relevant audio cable connections.

The front jack may be connected to an audio/sound card that supports 7.1.

The "jack behind in the motherboard" may be a motherboard jack that does indeed support only stereo.

Check both the motherboard and audio card specifications to verify what is what.
