[SOLVED] Headphones and Microphone Not Working Related to Realtek

For some reason when I plugged in my headphones this morning, I couldn't hear anything and my microphone wasn't working either. I looked in control panel and Realtek was not there. What do I do?

I've been having the same issue as well with my HyperX Cloud Cores. Although it hasn't proven to work for me, I would check on the Realtek drivers as well as the possibility of your motherboard requiring a BIOS update, although it is unlikely.

I actually solved my problem by accessing my Realtek driver, and essentially "rebooting" my driver. I'll include a tutorial below:

Enter Device Manager
Right click on the driver marked "Realtek(R)Audio" and select "Update Driver"
Select "Browse My Computer For Driver Software"
Select "Let Me Pick From A List Of Available Drivers"
Select "High Definition Audio Device" and press next
Select "Yes" on the popup and restart your computer.

This should fix any issues you've been having, or at least it did for me. Best of luck!
