Question Headphones and Surround Speakers Connectivity

Hello guys,

I have surround speakers from Creative, 2 speakers and one subwoofer, i want to connect them using the 3.5mm jack to my motherboard, and i want to connect my headphones at the same time, they are Logitech G430 and using 3.5mm jack, i don't want them to work at the same time, i want to switch between them from the sound panel, is that applicable?

I don't use USB connection for the headphones because the logitech software sucks and sound is weird when it is active.

Should be able to select which output in sound settings. There should be a drop down box under your volume slider as well.
I dont know if this will work if you split the 3.5 jack.
