Headphones are not recognised by laptop anymore

Hi all,
It all started 2 days ago while i was playing online with some friends. They started hearing everything that was happening around me. After some research i realised that my headphones are not detected by my laptop anymore. I can still listen to music etc. but instead of using the built in headphones mic, laptop uses the integrated mic.

Things I tried :
Updating audio drivers
Re-installing geforce drivers
Rolling back to a previous driver version
Using different headset (still the same problem)

Also, when I click on "sounds" from control panel, a window pops up saying "Windows host process (Rundll32)"

Any help will be appreciated!

Windows 10?

"WIN" + "I" > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Perhaps Windows will find and fix something.

This didn't help. I've even formated my laptop. It used to work perfectly fine 2 days ago

And reinstalled Windows 10 I trust.

There are probably some other Windows updates pending so once caught up the problem(s) may resolve themselves.

And you may also need to reinstall, other related audio drivers etc. to update them or replace the Windows defaults.

Once that is all "finished" try again and post accordingly.

Do not forget that you can use the small speaker icon in the lower right screen corner to access and configure audio related settings.

Many choices: windows, tabs, and properties to explore and check. Review carefully, keep notes, change only one thing at a time.

Focus must be on identifying the problem and the applicable fix.
