Headphones microphones problem

My speakers work but when i plug my headphones into the laptop they don't work, i've tried so many times to play with the settings to work up this problem, but i really can't find a selution to this problem. Help please.

Hi, this is the way laptop works, when you plug the headphones in the jack you disable the speakers.
