Headphones not detected with Windows 7

Recently I installed Windows 7, my computer plays through speakers fine, but headphones are not detecting.

Do the headphones work in the same port as the speakers?

Ok Assuming your using Headphones on a Different audio jack on the Back of your PC or from the Case front Headphone jack there are a number of reasons.

1) The front audio jacks are not connected to your PC motherboard
2) Your On board Sound card drivers need updating
3) You need to manually select from the sound card software that the line in/out port is an output or 4 speaker
4) The software your using needs to be Configured that your using 4 speakers or select the other port for sound
