Headphones port just stopped working randomly, Rear Audio port is working fine however.

Hello,

So i have a Gigabyte Intel Z77 G1.SNIPER 3 motherboard and when using the computer today the headphone port just suddenly stopped working. I have a Afterglow headset so it uses the usb port as well as the headphone port to separate chat application sounds from game sounds. When switching the port into the Rear sound port everything seems to work fine. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Things i have tried:

Restarting computer.
Making sure nothing is muted.
Making sure no dust/lint inside of the port.
Checking to see if the jack is fully inside of the port and if sound comes when it is pushed in slightly.
Used another pair of headphones to see if they ones i am using is the problem.
Making sure the correct sound is chosen inside of the control panel.

Is the faulty port directly attached to the MB? If not, try swapping it for another Headphone/Mic/USB hub.

Yes the port is directly attached to the MB. No other headphone sound port. I have been using the rear sound port for now and it sounds a little weird with the headphones but good enough for now. When i say rear sound port i mean the one that is also connected to the MB and is called rear sound. While the headset port on the MB isn't working. I hope this is clear.

Try reflashing the BIOS. If that doesn't work, replace the MB. Don't forget to clear off the old MB drivers.
