Hello,

I have a bit of a dilemma with my headphones and speaker setup on my PC. Currently, I have a pair of speakers that I use as well as headphones (3.5mm, not USB) that I switch between fairly often. I have an audio out port on the front of my PC but it has very audible interference whenever I move my mouse or if my storage HDD is whirring. I have tried all sorts of fixes here including shielding the cable internally and even replacing the entire front panel of my PC, but the interference continues.

I instead plug my headphones into the audio out port on my speakers, but there is some faint static there as well. I've used this set up for a few years and used my webcam's microphone instead of my BoomPro Microphone. I would like to make this set up better and be able to use my microphone.

The options that I have thought up thus far are not totally ideal:

Use a Y splitter for the audio out at the back of my PC and run 2 extension cables for the microphone and the headphones, plugging the speakers into the other end of the splitter.
-This I assume would cause some audio degradation and a decrease of volume out. Still, it's the easiest option.

Install a replacement or secondary front panel designed for audio output:
Something like this
-This would hopefully not have any interference, but still possibly could. Would be a bit of a messy setup.

Install a sound card and split up my PC's audio out in the rear, and run audio and mic extensions from that
-Would require some software setup and audio switching as well as a bit more $

Do any of you intelligent people have any better suggestions for me? Or, do you have an opinion on which of my "solutions" you think is best?

Thanks very much!
