Headphones with mic - don't know how to activate the microphone

Bought the Portable On-Ear Headphones RP-HF300M-P from Panasonic with the mic and headphones connected with one jack. I tried looking online on how to activate the microphone, but can't find and answer. It does not display anything in Sound on my ASUS desktop. Oh and I use the ASUS realtek HD audio thing that came with the desktop.

Try this...
Right click the volume right under your taskbar, then click 'Playback devices'. Click on the 'Recording' tab, and then right click in the space area and click 'Show Disabled Devices'. You should now be able to see the option to enable it.
