Headphones work only through one ear!

So I plugged in my headphones and audio seems to only be coming in through one ear. This bothered me so I plugged my headphones in my Ipad and it worked fine. So I plugged it back into my computer and fooled around with it. I discovered that if i press down on the headphone port it comes through both ears but i need to keep my finger on it. So WTF do I do.
