im looking for a pair of headphones that are good quality $300-400 canadian. dont want a mic on it. must have a 1/4" jack not a adapter, must be native 1/4". i have a focusrite scarlett solo and a mackie mix 5 can i can run good quality headphones from. it will be used for gaming but i already have a shure super 55 deluxe mic which i love so i dont need a mic.

I've been playing with good headphones about 5 years now. Ask me again in another 5. 😛

Seriously though I've always loved music and about 9 years ago I bought HD598s and the Xonar Essence STX which I thought was endgame and I was very happy with for 3 or 4 years. Then I just stumbled across a thread on Head Fi about my soundcard and pairing it with 'better' headphones. About 5 years later....here I am.

Although headphones are a newer hobby I've always had a good home stereo going back to when I had my first job at 15. It's much harder ( and expensive ) to experiment with different speaker and amp configurations than it is headphones. With all 600+ CD's I own ripped to FLAC and Tidal I'm in audiophile heaven. lol

I've got a pair of Klipsch RF-82 II's and a BIC PL200 sub powered by a Yamaha R-S700 with a Yamaha CD600 and a Grace Digital network streamer. Stereo isn't in the office with my PC though.

Never heard of that Yorkville sub. It may be great but I'd look at SVS. Sealed for music, ported for home theater. They have sales several times a year.

yea yorkville and mackie is not a "home theater" brand they are loud speakers designed to be extremely loud and good quality. things that last decades without replacement and good quality sound. that yorkville sub is a 18" subwoofer
