presumed this issue was caused by cable yanking and so after some quick tests I decied to cut the top section of 'affected' cable and resoldered the connections. Microphone and right ear work fine but I am starting to think that this may be a headphone driver issue, any ideas?
It is not device/soundcard related and seems unlikely to be the jack given that the way it is wired would mean that the right ear would be affected too.
