Just bought a new headset for the intentions on using just its mic as I already have some Bose QCs that I will be using for audio. The reason I wont use the QC mic is because whenever its active, the headphone quality is horrible, its sounds like someone is holding a speakerphone to me ear. Ive looked this up and came to the conclusion that its purely because of the bluetooth and there is no way around it. So of course I did the next best thing and purchased another mic. The Walmart I went to didnt sell independent mics, so I settled on a pair of cheap headphones that have a mic on it.
But now I cannot for the love of god get the mic to work. Windows recognizes the mic is plugged in "labeled Realtek HD Audio right now" but the mic does nothing.
Oddly enough, I found out that when I speak into the headphones themselves, it picks up the audio.
The mic headset is 3.5mm jack.
