Hey, i just built my first gaming PC the parts are:
NVidia GTX 1060 mini 3 gb zotac
Corsair ddr4 Ram 2x4gb
ASRock B350 motherboard
Ryzen 5 1600

So i installed all my components drivers, but i am having a problem with my microphone headset. So i plug my apple headphones (They definitely work) into the front microphone jack, and my computer recognizes that ive plugged something in. When i try to use them to talk to people in game, they cant hear me. Ive tinkered a bunch with my default devices and such to no avail. The closet ive gotten them to work is hearing myself through my monitors speakers. I dont know if this matters but i have the realtek hd audio drivers for recording devices and the rest is nvidia hd audio. Please help me this is really bugging me.

Solution
I've asked before, and I'll ask again, in case you didn't understand the first time. Are you using a single plug to plug the headset into the computer, or two plugs, one for the mic and one for the headphones? If it's a single plug, it needs an adapter.
Separate audio and mic plug-ins or a proprietary single plug that has both the headphone and mic sound run through it?

It sounds like it's working, if you've been able to use a monitoring feature to hear yourself. Have you looked around to see if you have a Mic gain or boost feature available? Often times this needs to be ratcheted for acceptable audio levels from microphones.

Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right of your screen. Then click recording devices and then double click on your microphone (apple earbuds) and then click on levels and turn microphone boost all the way up. This is probably your issue right here mah dude

So I did that ^ but i just noticed, the green bars go up (detecting sound) when im speaking into the part of the headphones that go into my ear? How weird is that. But people still cannot hear me. I checked if people can hear me via discord, and i also cannot hear them but i see they are speaking..

So when i speak into the part that goes into my ear, my speech is recognized but when i speak into the part that has the actual microphone (the +/- block half way down the apple headphones) my speech is not picked up. How weird is this? i plugged the same headphones into my laptop and when i speak into the ear part nothing is picked up and when i speak into the actual microphone speech is picked up. What could this mean?
